LOWER GRADE BOWLERS HAVE A CHANCE AT WINNING BIG

A three-day competition for lower-grade bowlers in Port Macquarie has wound up, after drawing teams from far north Queensland to Victoria.

Now in its fifth year, the annual tournament gives 6th and 7th grade players a shot at winning $10,000.

It’s the only event of its kind in Australia, and organisers say the competition was tight.

“No one’s won every game so far so it’s opened the tournament right up so it could be played right down to the end of the line”

Eventually, the two-bowl triples was claimed by Hunter club, East Cessnock.
