38 STARTERS IN PITTWATER TO COFFS YACHT RACE

Race officials say they’ll have 38 starters in the annual Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yacht Classic which gets underway on Thursday.

That’s seven more yachts on last year’s race, which was taken out by Wedgetail in a close finish with Raggamuffin.

Wedgetail won’t be racing this year after being dismasted during the Sydney to Hobart classic.

The smaller of Syd Fischer’s two Ragamuffins will be competing, and is considered a big chance to take out line honours.

A 15 to 20 knot southerly change is forecast soon after the start.
