A 13-year-old boy has been accused of stealing a handbag from an elderly woman at Lake Macquarie.
Police allege the teenager approached an 84-year-old woman, who was sitting in a vehicle in a Mount Hutton shopping centre carpark at about 12.30pm yesterday.
He asked her the time, before allegedly running to the other side of the vehicle and stealing her handbag from the car seat.
Police later arrested a 13-year-old at Lake Street in Windale.
He’s due to face children’s court today.
