The region’s recent rain has prompted health warnings, following an increase in mosquito numbers.
Hunter New England Health says there have been five confirmed cases of Ross River Virus and Barmah Forrest infections.
Public Health Physician, Dr David Durrheim, says symptoms for the viruses include a fever, skin rash painful joints and tiredness.
