A 2-year-old boy remains in a critical condition in hospital, after he was hit by a reversing car near Maitland.
Emergency services were called to Segenhoe Street at Woodberry just after 6:30 on Saturday evening, after reports a child had been struck by a reversing Holden Commodore.
Paramedics treated the boy on scene, before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
The driver of the car, a 22-year-old woman was charged with multiple offences including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
