Lake Macquarie Council says it has received more than 100 submissions on its controversial plan to remove Toronto’s iconic but troublesome fig trees.
Submissions closed this afternoon – one is believed to be a petition against the proposal that features thousands of signatures.
The masterplan, which involves removing the trees and replanting species that won’t cause underground damage, will go before councillors on December 9.
