A 23-year-old Wollombi man has been charged after yesterday’s wild chase through the Hunter Valley coalfields.
Police pursued the man and a woman for nearly two hours between Weston and Neath, after their car was seen in the vicinity of a suspicious bushfire.
They were eventually arrested.
The man who was driving the vehicle is facing several charges including dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and one under Skye’s Law for failing to stop.
Neither was charged in relation to the bushfire.
