A 25-year-old man has been charged over an alleged assault in the Newcastle suburb of Hamilton.
Police were called to Beaumont Street at around 2 o’clock on Saturday morning, after reports two men, aged 25 and 43, had been involved in an altercation.
The younger man was arrested at the scene, and taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged.
He was granted conditional bail, and will face court next month.
