Several hundred people turned out for the Light The Night walk of hope for blood cancer research on the Newcastle Foreshore last night.
Coloured lanterns signifying loss, hope and support were carried in a moonlight procession, raising funds and awareness for blood cancer research.
More than $23,000 was raised for the Leukaemia Foundation.
