What was supposed to be a controlled burn in Tallebudgera Valley has caused angst for home-owners this afternoon.
Fire-fighters have been forced to protect several properties as flames came dangerously close.
Around 30 fire crews, mostly volunteers have been battling the blaze between Golden Valley Road and Nancol Drive for more than 7 hours.
“We have 8 appliances on the scene, conducting back burning as a preventative measure there’s probably 6 or 8 residents potentially exposed to fire.”
Firefighters will continue working into the night to make sure the fire doesn’t jump containment lines
