As we mentioned earlier, newly elected member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, is now the Deputy Leader of the Nationals.
This morning’s party meeting the first time he’s entered Parliament House as an MP rather than a senator.
“I hope I do my very best job to walk hard, work hard, walk humbly. Obviously it’s going to be a new experience, coming to work at this side of the building. Mind you, so far, it seems very similar to the other side.”
While he’s predicted to receive a ministry, there’s still no word on what it might be.
