Students in years five and six from primary schools across the Hastings took part in the Twenty20 Blast School Cup in Port Macquarie today.
With the cricket season just around the corner, the event is designed to promote the sport, and encourage kids to sign up to their local clubs.
“it’s basically fun but if you’re having fun, hitting the ball, chasing, catching, you’re picking up skills and enjoying it at the same time.”
All up, about 350 students took part.
Tomorrow a similar event will be held for high school students.
