In what’s thought to be a Queensland first a new “go slow” zone will soon be trialled out the front of the “Hollywell Sailing Squadren”.
From the end of this month – the speed limit on the water, will be dropped from 40 knots to just six.. In a bid to stop large wakes washing up on shore.
“We’re not looking to slow everyone down on the Broadwater, we’re just asking boaties to make it safe for everyone, particularly the disabled and junior sailors ,so that everyone can enjoy the Broadwater.”
The trial will last for six months.
