TWO CHARGED OVER DRUG SUPPLY IN GUNNEDAH

Two people have been charged over supplying illicit drugs in the Oxley Police District.

Strike Force Maroopna police officers searched two homes in Gunnedah around 9.30am yesterday.

At Bloomfield Street, they found cannabis, methylamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, a laptop and a computer

A 26-year-old woman was arrested and charged with several offences, including drug supply.

During the search of a home on Porcupine Street, officers found cannabis seeds, mobile phones and drug paraphernalia.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gunnedah Police Station, where he was charged.

Both were refused bail, to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.

Acting Region Enforcement Squad Coordinator, Detective Acting Inspector Robert Bevern, is encouraging anyone with information on prohibited drug supply in the region to come forward.

“If you have information that can help with our investigations, we would like to speak with you. Your information will be treated in strict confidence.”
