LISMORE COUNCIL CALLS FOR THE RETURN OF FREE WHOOPING COUGH VACCINES
Lismore Council has joined its neighbours in Ballina by voting to put pressure on the State Government to continue subsidising the whooping cough vaccine on the Northern Rivers.
Last month the State Government announced it will stop offering free vaccinations to pregnant women because the number of reported cases had dropped.
“I would urge the state government to listen to our community and re-introduce free vaccinations because its the only way we are going to get on top of this potential epidemic.”
Mullumbimby has the highest non-vaccination rate amongst young children in Australia.
