OCTOPUS’S GARDEN FESTIVAL PROVES A HIT

Seafood, music, and the Tweed River was the focus of the inaugural Octopus’s Garden Festival at Tweed Heads at the weekend.

Locals took advantage of discounted river cruises and free-taste tests of the mornings trawler haul.

The aim, to give Tweed Heads its own festival and get more people on the river bank.

“The businesses that are here have such a loveley outlook here, you have the houseboats, its just to remind people that this is actually here.”

Organisers plan to expand the festival next year.
