In Newcastle Rugby League Kurri edged out the Sharks, while Wests and Maitland finished at 36-all.
The Pickers hit the front when Billy Towers, Brenton Horwood and Dylan Jenkins combined.
Wests hit back as Jake Finn forced his way over.
Maitland’s Joshua Desmond made a mockery of the Rosellas defence.
A few minutes later, Towers made Wests look ordinary again.
The contest was far from over .. Brad Murray and Justin Smith restored pride for the home side.
A Tim Penny double after the break was a highlight, as the sides shared the points.
