18 LEVEL TOWER TO TAKE OVER JOLLY ROGER SITE

A large, derelict site in Newcastle will soon be home to an 18-storey residential project.

The $40-million complex where the Jolly Roger nightspot once stood will be the tallest in the city.

  1. Why should this development be approved? 18levels sure! this is no different to dozens of previous proposals shot down in flames. Shadowing lol get real it is only 18 RESIDENTIAL levels. Sadly Newcastle seems to be lacking the energy, excitement and drive the city had in its golden years say 1870 to 1930’s. Why do people even bother? Developers- Give Newcastle away, you will only lose your money and drive or even your company. It is now destined to be a backwards, fairly unknown (nowadays by most Australians) smaller city/ town Newcastle city pop. 151,000 Lake Macquarie city 205,000. Also get real with other major cities in HV like Maitland, Cessnock, Port Stephens etc. These are not part of Newcastle city or Greater Newcastle and NEVER will be. Newcastle RIP.
