40 sheep and two cattle were put down yesterday, after the truck carrying the animals rolled on the Oxley Highway near Yarrowitch just after 1pm.
A 10-year-old boy and 29-year-old man, who were travelling in the prime mover, were taken to Walcha hospital with minor injuries.
One lane of the highway had to be closed for six hours.
