WEATHER UPDATE: EAST COAST LOW ON TRACK

The weather has been nothing short of perfect across the Hunter today with the warm drier air helping to reduce the showers in northern NSW and SE QLD.

The break is going to be very short lived for the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers as an east coast low is now forming off the northern QLD coast.

It will move to the SE and clip the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers so showers are going to return increasing from tomorrow, April 12, building to rain periods especially Saturday moderate to heavy falls are likely with winds increasing so weather warnings will be issued in the coming days.

The low will move into the Tasman away from the coast easing conditions but it will generate a large swell so more coastal erosion is on the way.

This system is not expected to affect the Hunter but another low may form next week.
