Officers from the Corruption Commission have reportedly raided the Armidale home and electorate office of former Nationals candidate Richard Torbay.
Mr Torbay quit NSW parliament last week after the Nationals asked him to step down as the candidate for the federal seat of New England.
He also quit as chancellor of the University of New England.
It is thought Mr Torbay’s links to former Labor powerbroker Eddie Obeid, who is at the centre of the largest corruption investigation in NSW history, are behind his resignation.
