The all-girls roller derby competition came down to the wire in Lismore last night.
But Northern Rivers Roller Derby (NRRD) held on, to claim a 76-point win over the Toowoomba City Rollers.
“Our girls are really really strong and really really fit, so they had the stamina to pull off the jams.”
The team’s next bout will be a double header in Byron Bay, as part of the North Coast Derby Coalition knockout.
NRRD will take on the Bay Rollers, while the Tweed Valley Rollers will come up against the Coffs Coast Derby Dolls on May 4.
