The prospect of Harry Kewell returning to the A-League is on the rise.
NBN News can reveal Newcastle Jets management have opened preliminary talks with the former English Premier League star.
Kewell hasn’t played in 18 months and would be eligible for the rest of this season, but a lack of match fitness could rule him out of Newcastle’s charge to the finals.
The Jets are keen to explore the option of next season, with Kewell also said to be desperate to put himself in the mix for the Socceroos’ 2014 World Cup campaign.
