Greater Taree City Councillor Alan Tickle intends to move a rescission motion, against council’s decision to reject a Dan Murphy’s liquor outlet in Taree.
The Deputy Mayor has lodged his notice ahead of the February 20 meeting, with the support of councillors Trent Jennison and Kathryn Bell.
Councillor Tickle is seeking a deferment of the decision, to allow councillors time to review the social impact study and to give Dan Murphy’s time to provide more details on the proposal.
The development was knocked back last month on the grounds of its social impact, despite council staff recommending it be approved.
