Police are investigating an armed robbery at a West Wallsend service station.
At around 9:30 last night, the console operator of the Withers Street business was approached by a man wearing a balaclava, who had a gun tucked into his trousers.
He was given cash before running off.
The offender is described as being of average build and height.
He was also wearing a dark blue hooded jumper.
