A flight training school at Glen Innes will go ahead.
The Northern Regional Planning Panel approved the controversial project this afternoon, with chair Gary West saying the Australia Asia Flight training school will provide a “shot in the arm for the community.”
A decision had been delayed because of contamination concerns.
The proposal includes an aviation training college, teaching facilities and accommodation.
Quirindi, Gunnedah and Armidale were all previously considered as possible locations for the development.
