Residents of Fullerton Cove near Newcastle are preparing for a legal battle in their fight to stop,
Dart Energy’s coal seam gas project in the area.
Today, members of the local residents action group held an auction and raffle to help raise funds to cover their legal costs.
“We’re here to protect Newcastle’s water.. our most precious resource so we will give it all we’ve got.”
Last month, a court granted a temporary injunction to stop test drilling at the site.
The case heads to the Land and Environment court on October 15.
