A 12-year-old boy has been charged with starting a bushfire that closed the F3 near Wyong for several hours yesterday.
The fire erupted in bushland at Watanobbi near the freeway, with smoke causing lengthy delays for motorists.
Police believe more young people are involved as the fire had multiple ignition points and three people were seen running from the area
The boy has been charged over the fire, also faces a break and enter charge, and will face Wyong Children’s Court on October 2.
