APPEAL FOR MISSING GUIDE DOG

Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is appealing to the Newcastle community for help in finding a guide dog that went missing in the area on Saturday, 25 August.

The guide dog is a six-year-old female golden Labrador and was last seen in her owner’s yard in Argenton near the Glendale shopping centre. She was wearing a red collar with a guide dog tag.

“We are extremely worried and concerned about the welfare of this guide dog,” said John Payne, Newcastle Regional Manager for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.

“The dog’s owner is terribly upset and desperate to get his guide dog back as without her he is lost and his level of independence has been significantly affected.

“All our dogs are micro chipped for easy identification.

“We urge anyone who sees the dog to take it to the nearest vet practice.”
