A man is suffering injuries to his head and body after being attacked in a home invasion in Cooks Hill overnight.
At about 8:30pm the 27-year-old man heard someone knocking on his door while he was in bed with his partner.
Police say two men and a woman stormed into the Kitchener Parade home, bashing him with a lump of wood and a baseball bat.
His 22-year-old partner was restrained in the bedroom by the woman.
The victim was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment and the police believe it was not a random incident.
