TRANSGRID POSTPONES TRANSMISSION LINE
A high voltage transmission line proposed to run between Bonshaw and Lismore, may not be needed for another 10 years.
A drop in electricity consumption on the Far North Coast has prompted TransGrid to review the timing of its project’s delivery.
The company predicts a line won’t be needed until at least 2014, but it may be deferred until winter 2022.
The construction of the $283 million line has angered some affected residents who fear the line will push down property values.
