Northern Rivers residents are being asked to roll up their sleeves and give blood amid a critical shortage.
A free barbeque was put on by the nurses association outside Lismore Hospital today, in a bid to entice locals to donate.
The Unions for Transfusions campaign comes at a critical time, with just over two days worth of blood left across Australia.
“There’s nearly 700,000 union members throughout New South Wales so even if 10 percent gave it would be fantastic”
The mobile blood bank will be in the Tweed next week.
