GOANNAS MAINTAIN THEIR UNBEATEN RUN

Newcastle Rugby League
Round 10

CESSNOCK 30 – MACQUARIE 28
KURRI KURRI 58 – PORT STEPHENS 20

A great day for the coalfields in Newcastle Rugby League, with the Goannas edging out Macquarie, while Kurri beat the Sharks.
At Cessnock, Terrance Seu Seu made the switch to halfback a worthy one, setting up Mick O’Shea.
The Scorpions proved they wouldn’t be overwhelmed, hitting back through Royce Geoffrey.
The Goannas were beginning to find plenty of space, Chris Pyne doing it easy from dummy half.
Seu Seu was involved again as Cessnock put on a move from inside its own half, eventually finished off by Jake Watts.
A solo effort to Al Lantry proved invaluable for the home side, as they hung on by just two points.
