INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUING INTO FATAL BUS ACCIDENT

An 11-year-old girl was on the Port Stephens bus that hit and killed her mother and just missed her baby sister yesterday in Sydney’s North.
The woman was hit by the bus while crossing the road with her 11-month-old baby girl.
The baby was uninjured but the 38-year-old woman died at the scene.
The Port Stephens bus was carrying primary school students returning home after a camp at Tea Gardens.
Police say the woman had been attempting to cross a busy intersection to pick up her daughter.
The 69-year-old driver has been interviewed and was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
