Newcastle councillors will be asked Tuesday whether to flick the switch on new parking meters in the city’s west.
The plan will see meters operating 7 days, around a busy weekend sporting area – expecting to net council around $430,000 in the 2012/13 financial year.
If approved the meters will go live on July 1.
Council says the move will help relieve parking congestion for nearby businesses.
