POLICE PLEASED WITH DRIVER BEHAVIOUR ON DAY FOUR OF OPERATION TORTOISE

Hunter police say they’re generally pleased with the behaviour of drivers on day four of Operation Tortoise

Officers have carried out almost 7,000 random breath tests across the Hunter during the easter road blitz.

The number of drink driving offences in the region is half of what it was this time last year.

But the number of people caught speeding has risen slightly.

Double demerit points will remain in place until midnight tomorrow night.
