MEN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED KIDNAPPING

Two men have been arrested and charged for allegedly tying up a man with cable ties and rope at Tweed Heads South last night.

Police say a 26-year-old man attended a unit in Altair Street and had a conversation with three men before being held against his will for two hours.

It’s alleged he had his hands and legs tied up and was punched and hit with a hammer before he escaped to a nearby bowling club.

He was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital suffering from a broken nose and cuts and swelling to his face and body.

The two men have been charged with special aggravated detain for advantage, wound with intent to cause grevious bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police are still searching for the third man.
