Underground parking sensors installed in Port Macquarie’s CBD will be switched on tomorrow.
The high-tech devices are designed to alert rangers when a vehicle overstays its welcome in time-limited parking spaces.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council trialled the underground sensors back in 2010, reporting increased vehicle turnover and less congestion in the CBD.
The new technology will also reduce the need for rangers to mark tyres and monitor parking times manually.
