Police are appealing for information following an assault and robbery in Goonellabah on Friday night.
At around 7:45 a 73-year-old man was walking along a lane way in Hayes Street when he was attacked from behind.
The offender demanded money and made off with the mans watch and keys.
The victim had to be treated in Lismore Base Hopsital for facial swelling and bruising.
Police say the offender was male, aboriginal in appearance, in his late teens to early twenties and was wearing a white hat, green shirt and grey pants.
