Killer, Trent Jennings, has been refused bail in Lismore Local Court – and a request to have him returned to Morisset Psychiatric Hospital for a fresh psychiatric assessment was rejected.
The 26-year-old was found sleeping in a stolen car at Byron Bay yesterday, after escaping during day release in December.
Jennings had been committed to the hospital after killing his gay lover in 2003.
He’s due to appear in Sydney’s Central Local Court on Wednesday, charged with detaining a person for advantage, car theft and robbery, and a fresh charge of gaining financial benefit by deception.
