Staff and patients at the Bellinger River District Hospital are welcoming news it’s been earmarked for a $5-million upgrade.
The cash injection from the State Government will go towards building a 14-bed sub-acute ward.
Rehabilitation and palliative care will also be upgraded.
Bellingen Shire Council is taking submissions on the proposal until the 22nd of December.
Construction is expected to start in 2012.
