The RTA says it is committed to further improving a stretch of road at Fern Bay, which has been at the centre of protests and community meetings over the past four months.
Residents called for urgent action after a schoolgirl was hit by a car while crossing Nelson Bay Road near the Bayway Village.
The RTA has improved line markings and road signs in the area, but says it’s yet to deicide the best option for a crossing.
