CITY CREATE HISTORY IN BLACK DIAMOND AFL

BLACK DIAMOND AFL

Grand Final

NEWCASTLE 14.20 -104
CARDIFF 10.11 – 71

Newcastle City has created Black Diamond AFL history, becoming the first side to win the grand final four years in a row.
Traditional rivals Cardiff went in as underdogs, but made the brightest start, with Aaron Wivell on target early.
When Hugh O’Neil potted his first goal for the afternoon the Hawks were looking good, but the celebrations proved premature.
City dominated the second half, and began to score at will thanks to Reyne Hondow and Joshua Avis.
The win caps a great year for Newcastle, who also finished as unbeaten minor premiers.
