  1. There is no renewable energy on the horizon hence no foundation for a tax in its present form. Wind and solar take 14 years to payback the emissions in fabrication transport erection connect to grid operation dispose in a 15year life cycle. The real problem is CO2 build-up will stop suns heat light entry hence global cooling. ALP plan to reduce global warming will be achieved.
    At government level Australia needs better science and fact advice well before some emotive vote.
    Government needs to implement laws on extreme chemical setting regulations and controls on emissions to set a baseline. UNFCCC_IPCCC set that line. Some of these emissions are 20,000times CO2 tonne. The urgent need is to comprehend the mass CO2e build-up is from 300 years of industrial emissions coupled with land clearing back to desertification. Deserts reflect heat back to upper atmosphere this added to perpetual volcanic eruptions without sufficient vegetation to sequester this build up. The Earth herself is a prime contributor.
    Well-planned desert reversal programme will sequester mass CO2 to grow soil food fodder and employ many in new careers including illegal immigrants! The income from carbon trading will also fund clean energy development.
    A further point missed by APH is that, the northern hemisphere without bees and soil are now increasing low of food supplies. The UN reports China alone will have 20-50 million environmental refugees over next 6 years couple this with greater Africa where will they travel to. APH needs to understand these issues before a vote. Robert Vincin
