One of the best whale watching seasons in decades continues along Australia’s east coast, with tour operators still reporting some close encounters
with humpbacks returning to Antarctic waters.
These pictures were shot from the charter vessel Imagine, off Port Stephens.
Three whales, in no particular hurry, came in to watch their watchers.
Relatively calm seas have provided favourable conditions for whale watching.
