TRUCK DRIVER HELD UP AT GUNPOINT

A truck driver was held up at gunpoint while he was stopped at roadworks on the Pacific Highway, near Bulahdelah, late last night.

The 58-year-old was ordered out of the four-tonne truck, which was then driven off by the armed man.

Police say a number of shots were fired, but the driver was not injured.

About three hours later, police arrested two men at Tuncurry.

The stolen truck, which was loaded with mobile phones, has been located and is being examined by forensics officers.
