A man and a woman are dead, and another person is fighting for their life after a horror smash on the New England Highway, just south of Tenterfield.
A Holden Barina with two people onboard collided head-on with another vehicle this morning.
The 56-year-old male driver died at the scene.
His female passenger was flown to Gold Coast Hospital suffering critical injuries.
The female driver of the other vehicle was rushed to Tenterfield Hospital, where she later died.
