It’s been the toughest of days for a Lake Macquarie family, who farewelled a 13-year-old boy following his sudden death last week.
Friends and relatives of 13-year-old Joshua Caruso attended Newcastle’s Sacred Heart Cathedral for his funeral.
Among the mourners, police officers supporting Josh’s parents, who are serving and former members of the force.
Josh died from an undiagnosed heart condition while walking to school at Belmont, last Tuesday.
A memorial has been set up where he was found.
