After three years of protesting, locals have finally had the chance to voice their concerns over the Bangalow Interchange to the RTA.
At a meeting last week, community members told officials they fear the project would put their town at serious risk, through traffic congestion, pollution and jeopardising road safety.
“The real outcome was that Bangalow got a chance to really declare the fact that it didn’t need an interchange at Bangalow and I think for the first time the RTA heard that message very clearly.”
At the meeting, the RTA presented four alternative designs for the interchange, but no clear outcomes were reached.
The planned project is part of the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale Pacific Highway upgrade.
