In a thrilling day of racing, Kempsey has beaten nine other North Coast teams to claim the women’s title in the annual Titivators dragon boat regatta.
While in the mixed category, Grafton took the honours.
The event was held on the Kalang River at Urunga, attracting around 1,000 paddlers and spectators from Taree to Byron Bay.
There were 35 heats in the competition, with superb conditions helping crews gain the extra edge on the water.
The third annual regatta was extra special for four clubs testing out their new boats.
